The next exercise in our Home Exercise Programme introduces Prisoner Squats.
When it comes to exercise to be done at home, they don’t get much better than the Prisoner Squat. This whole body exercise is great for building strength and also getting the heart going. To get the most out of your squats, here are some pointers to make sure you get the technique right.
1. Start with your feet slightly wider than shoulder width, and slightly turned out.
2. Place hands behind your head with the elbows in line with shoulders.
3. Keeping your chest up, sit down and push back with your hips allowing knees to move forward in line with your toes.
4. Aim to get the thighs parallel to the floor, then press up through the heels and back to the start position.
